Growing up in Polk County, North Carolina, music has always been a part of Judd’s life. He even jokes, “I can’t even tell you how I started playing, I can’t remember back that far.”

But the truth is, Judd picked up his first guitar, a hundred-dollar Fender Squire Stratocaster, after combining all his gift monies from his 8th birthday. “I had a fist full of dollars and begged my parents to take me downtown to buy it,” Judd remembered with a smile on his face.  That fire to buy his first guitar was lit by the same Elementary School Music Teacher who had influenced BJ (The Dirty South Band’s Lead Singer) to pursue music.  Little did any of them know what a few guitar lessons after class would lead to years after.

Influenced by the sounds of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams Jr., and The Charlie Daniels Band, Judd formulated his Southern sound, which you can now hear in each bass line strum of his guitar.  However, it isn't the musical talent that makes The "Dirty South" Band so amazing. It is the brotherhood inside the band that creates the magic. "We make a great group because of our friendships.  We are truly good friends at the end of the day," Judd expressed.

You’ll find him hanging out in the barn working on his 78’ Bronco when the band isn't playing music.  “It’s a passion and a career all at the same time,” Judd laughed, “If I could have my dream car in the barn, it would be a 67’ Chevelle Super Sport.” No matter what he’s doing, you can be sure Judd is turning up the power in his life and dreams.
